ANFI. Are they sending "tricky" letters?

Well, it could be, like the letter transcribed below, where they mention changes that must be made to comply with the "Vacation Membership Law in Spain" (interesting name) which they call later the Timeshare Law in Spain. They forget to mention that these changes are now necessary because of their mistakes (this is why they offer them at no cost, what a relief!) and due to the fact that they have been selling weeks of timeshare illegally. It seems that once again Anfi is at the forefront of those who follow the Law! (I wish they were so compliant with the judgements that condemn them to pay sums of money to the club members who claim these illegal contracts !!). They also disguise the content of this letter by offering to include more family members in the Membership Certificates, and of course at no cost again. Finally they offer to help in booking flights or reservations due to the complicated times we live in. As I said, it seems that now they are the best friends that a member can have ...

If you receive such a letter and the promised documentation afterwards in a separate envelope, do not sign it, consult a solicitor/abogado and make sure you do what is best for you, not what is best for them!

Here is the content of the letter sent to me by one of my clients

Dear family —,

I hope you and your family are well and that this year is looking more promising than 2020 for you.

As you will have already heard, here at Anfi we are gradually updating some of our memberships as per the changes in the Spanish Vacation Membership Act, as well as the Data Protection Scheme (GDPR).

The update is simply to adapt your existing membership to the new Spanish Timeshare law which will show the change in the scheme from in perpetuity to fifty renewable years, extendable at no cost and  as agreed at the Special General Meeting from year 2017. 

We will shortly be sending the documentation for your approval and signature to your home address, including a prepaid postage envelope to make it easier for you to return it.

You can take this opportunity to add any family members in the membership at no cost, we will simply need full name as appearing on passport, date of birth as well as job title / occupation. These will be sufficient for us to start the process of adding new co owners.

Please could you confirm that the following address is correct to avoid delays in postage, as well as full names and dates of birth:
